About Us
Heljuheims kennel is located in Hveragerdi, Iceland.
We are a small "kennel" of only 2 Giants and 1 other dogs. Our Dogs are family members, first and foremost, everything else is a plus for us. Our aim is to breed healthy dogs. Sound in mind and body. On this page you will find information about our dogs, latest news, upcoming litters and the breed in general. Feel free to look around and drop in again. On behalf of Heljuheims Kennel, Ragga |
Who are we?
Ragga with Helja and Dakota
We are Ragnhildur (Ragga), Thrainn and our two baby girls Halldora and Hrafnhildur.
Ragnhildur is the dog-person in the house and is the one that takes the dogs to shows, trails and tests. And is the one that has the passion for dogs.
Thrainn and the girls oversee petting and other affections.
I, Ragga, have always been interested in dogs and animals. I always wanted a dog and when me and my family moved to the small town we got a dog. An adult Saint Benrhards female called Disa. After she past away a few years past until a got another dog.
In 2002 Tarzan, the Irish setter, came in to my life. He was my best friend. He passed away in 2005 when he got hit by a car. Hi will always be in my heart and because of him I got into showing, handling, training and knowing the people I know to day.
In 2005 Helja, the "rottie", came to us. With her I stared obedience training for real.
In 2006 my dream came true when Dakota, Giant Schnauzer, was born and she is my princess. I just love her.
In 2007 Natan the Prince, Mini Schnauzer, came to us for the same breeder as Dakota.
2009 was the year Reisa, giant Schnauzer, came to us and left this world.
2010 Röskva, Giant Schnauzer, came and filled our hearts and home with her big personality.
2012 Þjálfi was born. Our first breed Giant.
2016 Reina became a part of the family, when she was imported from Hungary
Since 2003 I have been a member of HRFI - the Icelandic Kennel Club (that got full FCI approval in 2011).

I was one off the founders of the PMF club (for breeds in group 2 at FCI) and was chairman for two years.
